Weapons in town
Something I have really been wanting to guildwars is the ability to show weapon and shield in towns to other players , like having sword and shield on the back. Some of the Idea behind getting a new weapon and armor is that you want something that is personalized to your character .. something almost only you have ! So I feel that making weapons and shields avaible to be seen in towns will make each character more unique and more fun to show of to other players ... really .. it cant be all that hard to make it happend ?

It isn't nice to have your weapon out when speaking and trading with other people. I think it was Elder Scrolls III that made townsfolk less inclined to talk to you if you had your weapon drawn. Towns are a place to get away from all the bloodshed. (although, just spend 30 seconds in Marhan's Grotto... )
But seriously, I wouldn't want to display my weapons in towns, but wouldn't have a problem with them making the option to do so.

I think that if youre able to show off your fow armor and show how 1337 you are, why shouldnt you be able to show your weapon for the same effect?
Also i dont understand what the problem would be with people seeing your weapon. Do you think it shows off your tactics or what? I seriously got no clue why this feature should not be added.

So that's what I was doing wrong And to think I would just kill them when they refused to accept what I was willing to pay.
Yeah /notsigned. Sounds like it would just create more of the 'my d**k is bigger than yours' syndrom.

While we're at it, I think there should be no armor in town as well. We are getting away from the carnage and aren't these safe areas. Maybe keep armor on in the outposts, but definitely not in the cities. Just my underwear and cape - yeah I can really get into that!

Well, we need some sort of casual wear in towns, though some armors could count there. And think of how ANET could use this as a gold sink if they only allow you one set of town clothes, so you have to pay every time you want to change them.

so if people here had fissure armor from f.ex Cantha (not called fissure there) you wouldnt feel like showing it of to other people ? , you have to remember that these things makes the towns more active .. since if a guy come in with a rare weapons or a armor this creates stories to tell .. like "where did you get that one?" , "I was in underworld where I bought it from a merchant" ... "oh cool ... maybe I should take a visit to underworld"
A town in the old days where a place where people would gather to tell their stories from all kinds of places and experiences ... seriously .. when guildwars first came out people where talking alot ... all you hear now is spamming in the trade channels except from some small places

you would actually save the time if you had the weapon strapped on the back or on the side , then they would just look and not ask you to open trade window too see ^^

If people annoy me I just do the 'don't you talk to me' line and then ignore them or block them. Weapons on the back really only works well for warriors or rangers. Casters can hold they wands or staffs. I'd sign this, so yeah, /signed.

My only concern is
A) lag. It seems like it would be hard to animate everything. Imagine having 100 Fiery Dragon Sword/Fellblades in town, all needing their animate constantly going. Droks is bad enough as is tyvm.
B) How would you be able to do this while having capes at the same time? It would be really tricky to do this. I just wish they would fix the small glitch in my elementalist collector's armor (the right shoulder, but not the left for some reason has a small break in it where the textures don't match up). I could imagine cropping errors would be huge if they had weapons on your backs and it would probabaly look pretty bad. Also, since people are different heights/classes and yet their weapons are all the same model, some things would look real goofy on certain characters.

eeeh all you need is an option in your menu in towns: show all weapons on back, show only your weapon, don't show weapons.
like the hide cape menu.
very simple, and yes it would be nice to have your weapon on your back. a black dyed fow warrior with a dark fellblade and a black shield on his back would rock!
